Postseason General Information -  2023

What parents need to know about All-Stars

SW Portland Little League typically fields post season teams for both baseball and softball. Go to this page to register. Little League District 4 (of which SWPLL is a member) conducts post season tournaments each year for both baseball and softball.

  • All Star teams have already been selected for both the Baseball and Softball programs

  • Honors teams  are intended to provide players not selected to an All Star team an opportunity to play in a post-season environment. All Star teams are formed first and then Honors teams are formed; if there are enough players for multiple teams, players are "drafted" onto the different Honors teams in order to create teams that are as equal as possible.

  • Preference will be given to AAA and Majors players, with AA players accepted subject to coach approval.

  •  The honors tournament this year is scheduled from June 17 to June 20th for pool play and June 24 to June 25 for championship bracket play (likely hosted by Murray Hill). While it is the goal of Southwest Portland Little League to provide this opportunity to as many players as possible, there is no guarantee all players will be placed on an Honors team.

Fees: Post-season registration is $130 for All-Stars and $80 for Honors.   Fees cover practice fields, tournament costs, jersey, and hat.  No player will be turned away for inability to pay, and scholarships are available.   Please email registrar@swpll.org for scholarship info.

Uniforms: Uniforms will be included in the cost of registration for post season. Baseball will be wearing grey pants for post season.  We will be wearing green socks and belt this year.

Age Determination:  Baseball players must be between little league age 8 and 12 to play post season. Please see the baseball age chart at the bottom of this page. Softball players must be between 9 and 14 to play post season. Please see the softball age chart at the bottom of this page to determine little league age.

Refunds: Refunds will be available only until uniforms are ordered.

Practices: Practices will start as soon as teams are assigned in late May working around regular season's team's practices.
